Description
L'artiste, le mod le et la peinture is the first monographic publication of Agnieszka Brzezanska's work. A compelling compilation of her photographs, paintings, and videos, "whose non-hierarchical order, cross references, and direction (of thought), process, and decentralization are emphasized." The subject of Brzezanska's work is always performative. Her works are descriptions of the body in motion. "The painting defines (and is defined by) the body acting upon it."
The monograph is a long-planned publication, which developed while Agnieszka Brzezanska was a guest of the Berlin DAAD artist-in-residence program in 2008/2009.
